Paris Match

As a massive football supporter I have always had a love for Sunderland football club, but unfortunately that doesn’t afford me the opportunity to watch European football too often! I am a season ticket holder at Sunderland but I always hope and pray for European qualification of some kind so that I can see a match in Europe. A few years ago, though, I gave up on that ever happening!

I started to follow quite a few European leagues so that I could combine a game abroad with a holiday, and after watching the French league for a while, I really enjoyed watching Marseille. It was a long way down to Marseille and I had heard that it was a bit of an industrial town, so I thought the best thing to do was to watch an away game of theirs. In the end I settled on Paris St Germain vs Marseille because I could there were lots of cheap hotels in Paris and I knew I could get there quickly by train.

I have to say that I couldn’t have chosen a better game to go and watch! The tension was unbelievable as the two giants of French football took each other on, and to be honest I was just glad to get out of there alive! The quality of play was probably a shade lower than our league over here, but lets face it, you just can’t watch a Premier League match in a city as beautiful as Paris!
